AGA KUBISH ARE
Aga Kubish is a fine artist and printmaker based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK. She works across drawing, printmaking, photography and artist’s books, with a strong focus on process-led and sequential practices.
Over recent years, her work has centred on botanical and architectural motifs, developing a highly detailed and recognisable visual language rooted in drawing, line, repetition and time-intensive mark-making. She discovered printmaking in 2021, which has since become a central part of her practice.
Aga is an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (elected 2022). Her large linocut print Green House has been acquired for the RE Diploma Collection.
Between 2024 and 2025, she founded and ran ART GALLERY & STUDIO in Weston-super-Mare — an independent gallery space dedicated to exhibitions, collaboration and community-focused artistic practice. After closing the project, she returned her focus to her own studio-based and research-led practice.
Her practice is informed by the visual language of historical engravings and print traditions, including dotwork and hatching techniques, alongside a strong interest in traditional bookbinding and plant-based photography. Aga often works with black ink, dense line structures and extended manual processes, allowing images to emerge gradually through repetition and accumulation.
She draws inspiration from artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Katsushika Hokusai and Alphonse Mucha. Her subject matter continues to explore plants, architecture, English landscapes, imagined sea creatures and historic structures.
Since 2025, Aga has been an Ambassador for St Cuthbert's Mill.
She is currently studying MA Fine Art Printmaking at University of the West of England Bristol.
